Until the invasion of 2003 he was leading regular tours throughout Iraq & visiting cities and archeological sites from Ninevah (Mosul) in the north to Basra in the south. I was fortunate enough to travel with Geoff during September & October of 2002 (you can see some of my photographs at the foot of the Iraq page) and we met nothing but courtesy and kindness wherever we visited. The tour started in Syria, then we went on to tour Iraq, and a small party of us carried on to travel around Iran. A truly memorable and superb trip among some of the friendliest people on the planet. During the past couple of years Geoff has led several tours through Iraqi Kurdistan and Afghanistan. Planned for 2009 are new tours to Iraq, Kurdish Iraq, central and north Afghanistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Dhagestan, & Uzbekistan. For full details visit the Hinterland Tours website at http://www.hinterlandtravel.com or by copying or typing the link into your web browser if the website does not open with its page links showing at the top of the website home page. Go and book yourself a real travel experience! National Geographic Traveller has included Hinterland Travel in its '50 Tours of a Lifetime' list |
