Postal Tax stamp from 1966 used in Gaza

The 1966 Palestine Postal Tax Issue 5m. emerald green on unwatermarked paper was printed by the Postal Authority Press in Cairo.
The stamp was applied, along with Egyptian Palestine postage stamps, to letters from Gaza during 1966-67.
Funds were raised in this manner for the Palestinian cause.
The Arabic script at bottom right reads " Liberation Tax".

You will see some items listed as sheetlets. These are not miniature sheets/souvenir sheets/blocks but are small sheets of usually four, six, eight, or ten stamps and the only format in which the particular issue was printed. These sheetlets often have descriptive or decorative borders. If you would like to buy the stamps in sheetlet form then please contact us for further information about any specific issue[s].
The stamps themselves are beautifully printed in either Germany or France and production is of the highest quality.
The images shown on the webpage below are degraded in order to speed up downloading time.
In the future Palestine will once again be an autonomous country and these early stamp issues will be sought after. The supply is finite, so make sure you buy your stamps now at these low prices. A few of the FDC's are very large and require an A4 size board backed envelope for mailing, so postage will be a little higher than usual should you purchase any of these.

All stamps, MS's, S/S's, sheetlets, etc; are um/mnh and FDC's are official and unused.
Some notes on SG catalogue listings and information given therein..
Stamps listed below are sold in sets as shown by Michel. The European agency at the time of issue listed the sets in this manner and still does. They are sold in sets as defined in the Michel catalogue. SG have decided to list the first sets "Flags" and "Sights of Jerusalem" as one set, and also treat the surcharged stamps as one set. The 1995 handstamped sets as shown in SG Part 19 are not recognised by the issuing agency - indeed they were not aware of their existence as long ago as 2003 - and until proven otherwise I will regard these as local unofficial handstamps probably applied by an Israeli dealer or dealers. Israel objected to the stamps being valued in Mils as this was the currency of Palestine before the country's dismemberment and occupation by Israel. If anyone can give precise details about these handstamps or verify that they were sanctioned by the Palestinian Authority then I will be delighted to receive the detailed information to publish on this website.
FDC's of the first 'Flags' issue have a 15th August 1994 Gaza Jericho circular date stamp and FDC's of the first issue of Sights of Jerusalem set have FDC's cancelled on 1st September 1994. Later FDC's with the officially surcharged 'Mils' Flag set have an oval cancel dated 10th April 1995 and the covers show the Palestinian Authority flag. The surcharged Sights of Jerusalem FDC's also have a cancellation date of 10th April 1995 but with a circular special cancellation and an illustration of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Other FDC handstamps were applied locally.
Most but not all FDC's have special First Day of Issue cancellations relating to the issue and some covers have illustrations. Unofficial FDC's were also printed in Gaza and can usually be recognised by the poor quality illustrations [offset printed] on the covers which are of a lower grade of paper than used for official covers.[example]

You will notice that very few stamps, miniature sheets and FDC's are still available due to the steady demand and growing interest in Palestinian Authority issues.
I hope to offer more 1994 to 2005 issues from time to time but numbers will be very limited, so if you don't see what you want you should keep visiting the webpage.
